Each one of these safes has a 45-minute fire rating at 1400 degrees and consists of 12-gauge steel on both the walls and the door. This means that the steel this “entry level” gun safe is thicker than most of the gun safes that can be found in big box retail stores.

Hollon has been making safes that exceed industry standards for years. Their design, strength and durability go beyond what most manufacturers provide. Each Hunter Series gun safe includes up to twelve 1.25-inch locking bolts on all four sides for pry attack resistance and uses drill and ballistic resistant hard plate in order to protect the interior of the lock in a better way. The only practical way to get through it would be by melting it. Even if a thief were to go through such lengths and manage get through, he would then have to deal with the auxiliary relocking system. This auxiliary system would still be working perfectly, even if there were no lock on the safe. Talk about maximum security!

Hollon chooses to use the more expensive S&G electronic locks over the imports that other brands tend to use. This is a great added-benefit. Sargent and Greenleaf’s high-security electronic locks have been proven to withstand military-level EMP attacks. An EMP is a Nuclear Electromagnetic Pulse, or burst of electromagnetic radiation created by nuclear explosions. These Hollon Safes would give you full access to your valuables even after an EMP emergency, keeping them completely protected. S&G tested its most popular gun safe locks using the U.S. military’s highest EMP impact standard. An independent lab applied a radiant transient electromagnetic field on a variety of S&G keypads following the Military Standard MIL-STD461F, Method RS105 at 50 kV/m peak exposure. At the end of the testing series, the S&G locks were still fully functional. Now that is the kind of reassurance one wants when investing in a safe!
