I am very satisfied with the safe itself. It performs as advertised. My lower rating is the result of two failed attempts to fedex the safe to me. The company has a shipping department problem. Amarillo did a good job is honchoing the problem.
The vaultek VT20i is a great biometric safe at a great price point. You can not go wrong if you are in the market for this type of safe.
It is a little heavier than I thought. Especially with a gun and a few mags. This just confirms to me how solid this safe is. Worth every penny.

Great site to buy a safe. Was easy to compare and shipping was fast even in the pandemic. The safe itself is awesome. I added fingerprints following the instructions and it works like a charm. Enough space for my Glock 19 with 3 magazines. Love the LED light great for the dark when you need it the most!
I read quite a few reviews on all kinds of pistol safes and this one, won. I am very pleased with the safe and the 4 ways to gain access. The bio-metric entry is efficient enough for quick access in low lit areas as well as the punch button entry. I wanted the bio-metric as a fail safe encase of me having a "brain fart" not being able to remember the combo in an emergency situation. Some other reviews said the bio-metric was not functioning well, but I haven't had any issues. Follow the directions and scan your print at different angles. I will offer this advise, Do not get the upgraded pad. the included pad is just fine. Not really much difference. Safe is large enough for my H&K 9mm and the extra clip. My other one has my .38 special and my .380 with and extra clip.
I like the flip open lid and it fits in our bedside table drawer. Has a cable so it can be looped around the bed frame or you can install a "D-ring" in the floor under the bedstand. Just a couple of ways to secure the safe.
All in all I feel it was a great value.

The finger print reader is great, it's fast and always reads the prints first time. I'm glad I went with the 20i because it can fit two subcompact pistols.
I did my research and decided on the Vaultek VT20I and I made the right decision. I needed a bedside safe as well as a vehicle safe and this works for me. It is secure, easy to set up, and works quickly and smoothly when I need to open it. It is great to have next to my bed for nighttime storage. I ran the security cord around my bed frame, so to take the safe someone would have to completely disassemble the entire bed. I am confident that I can get into the safe quickly, but I am the only one that can do so. I have had no issues with the biometric fingerprint scanner. My Sig Sauer 9mm plus an extra magazine easily fit inside in the padded compartment. I can quickly remove the security cable to move the safe to the trunk of my car when necessary. A great product that gives me the security I need to feel comfortable keeping my loaded pistol accessible while safely away from children and anyone else. I was very impressed at how solid this safe is, nothing flimsy about it. Next purchase will be another vaultek for my multiple guns. Best purchase and am so glad I did my research first!
