America has a stolen gun problem. Reports of firearms stolen from officers’ patrol cars have already dominated headlines in 2020. For example, in North Carolina, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department task force said that 100 of the 250 guns they seized in January and February were stolen out of cars. Other reports estimate that one gun is stolen every 90 seconds, equating about 380,000 stolen firearms each year.
Replaced a Hornady RFID with the Top Vault. Easy to set up the Biometric function which has worked easily all the time. I couldn’t rely on the RFID to function as designed. It could be improved by having a hole on both sides for the security cable so you don’t have to drill one yourself .It could use a beefier cable. Overall I am very pleased with it.
Most of my guns are stored in a safe, but I want quick access to my shotgun for the occasional varmints that I need to dispatch out here in the country and to have access for personal defense. But I also need to keep it secured when my grandkids come for a visit. This was the perfect solution! It is securely mounted and curious little fingers can't access it. It was so simple to change the code. I'm really glad I purchased this and when I sent a photo to my nephew he said he was going to get one for in his bedroom.
Perfect for one gun and 2 mags out of reach of grandkids.Easy to open quickly
It is beautiful and my son loved it. The craftsmanship is excellent and top quality materials and paint job as well. I am referring everyone to these products and safes for sure.
Initially I was sent a safe that didn't have a S&G lock as marketed and Hollon and Armadillo made it right. The locksmith who changed the lock said the Securams are good too, but I wanted a S&G. I was glad Armadillo updated their website to show the possibility Hollon may ship you a Securam if they say a S&G isn't available. For the price I'm very satisfied with the quality.
Love this one just as much as the fist. Craftsmanship is superb! Will be buying more from this fantastic company!
Great way to keep your shotgun out of unauthorized hands but still available for rapid deployment. With a little practice, the vault can be opened very quickly without any key or RFID tag. Even in total darkness, the buttons are easy to feel, and the gun comes out easily. The build quality seems very good. The number of combinations is better than the other mechanical lock safes I've seen.
Although the lock is sturdy and secure, it is still valuable to conceal your weapon to avoid attracting the attention of thieves or curious kids. The ShotLock is small and can easily be mounted behind a curtain or door.
LockPickingLawyer on YouTube showed how the vault can be opened by inserting a steel wire through the small openings in the corners, and using it to move an internal latch. Kids are smart and also have access to YouTube, so I filled the openings with epoxy to mitigate the problem. I hope the manufacturer will address this soon, but be aware that alternative safes may have similar or worse vulnerabilities. Be sure to do some research on whatever you are considering.
One downside of the ShotLock is the tight fit around the shotgun's receiver. This prevents mounting a side saddle or shotgun card on the receiver for holding extra ammo. Also, I think it would be difficult or impossible to mount a red dot or ghost ring sight.
This produce is amazing. The quality and finish was flawless. This was purchased as a gift, but after seeing it in person I will be ordering one for myself.
Wonderful piece of craftsmanship….my husband and son were very pleased with their American Flag 2 compartment gun concealment cases…beautiful items🤭
The RS800 is definitely the size you’ll want. For me, I wish they offered a slightly bigger one, but their peg system makes up for it. Making use of all the available space within.
Armadillo Safes makes the purchase smooth and painless, considering Vaultek is not cheap. Lol.
